Fair Pay Services and Compliance

Worker and contractor welfare are of the utmost importance to us and shape everything we do as a business. We will continue to work to the very highest standards of compliance, service and operational excellence, in the best interests of all who deal with us.

As a demonstration of this commitment, we are one of a handful of payroll partners to hold both FCSA and Professional Passport accreditations and we’re very proud to be APSCo Trusted Partners.

The FCSA operates a best practice Codes of Compliance designed to ensure that its Accredited Members provide services, advice and employment to the highest level of professional and ethical standards in the UK:

  • Robust Codes of Compliance developed by Ernst & Young, in consultation with HMRC, and available to the public on the FCSA website.
  • Accredited Members are tested annually by carefully selected, independent assessors. All assessors are top-tier regulated accountants and solicitors.
  • The FCSA Codes of Compliance are continually updated to reflect current legislation.
  • Non-compliance by FCSA Accredited Members results in the suspension or termination of FCSA Accredited Membership.

Professional Passport is the only insurance-backed provider of compliance accreditation. They’re completely independent, which allows them to objectively advise each sector of the marketplace.

  • Their compliance standards ensure that providers operate compliantly across the many areas of legislation that apply.
  • They require the highest level of transparency to ensure workers are clear on any arrangements entered into.
  • Continually review and update their standards to keep driving best practice across the sector.
  • By working with Professional Passport approved providers, agencies and end clients can benefit from FREE OF CHARGE Professional Passport membership including £5 million debt transfer insurance.

APSCO is a trade body, providing a powerful unified voice for the professional recruitment market.

  • APSCO completes robust due diligence to ensure all trusted partners operate to the highest standards, and allowing recruiters to have complete confidence in their suppliers.
  • APSCO trusted partners have consistently demonstrated dedication to upholding the highest standards in umbrella employment services and acting the interests of our agency partners and contractors alike.

JobsAware provides free help and advice to UK workers who believe they might have suffered from job scams or unfair working practices. As part of their work to improve standards for non-permanent workers, such as agency and umbrella workers, they have partnered with a number of umbrella organisations to pilot an awareness scheme.
The JobsAware Principles of Good Practice for Umbrella Companies are below;
  • Demonstrate that they are working proactively to protect contractor rights.
  • Promote JobsAware as a place to refer contractors that have concerns about their employment.
  • Promote JobsAware as a place to refer contractors that need general employment help or advice.
  • Engage with the opportunity to engage with UK Government, through a Payment Intermediaries sub-committee, to discuss issues and opportunities in the sector.
  • Report abuse against themselves, such as contractor fraud, to JobsAware.
